Good Design: JUICER

This is a mini juicer; it is smaller than the original classic juicer. The juicer has two components, orange holder and the stirrer.
My juicer is different from the classic juicer, because mini juicer has provide user an innovative way of making juice by transforming the traditional way of pressing and squeezing to simply just string in two opposite directions. The shape of my design is almost like a full orange, finger prints functions easer to grab on and also generates a comfortable feeling. This new product are designed for the theory of having more control by grabbing onto it by the palm of your hand rather than the old technique of making juice by pressing force on the table.

The juicer both hands working together, one grabbing on the juicer another doing the back and forth motion therefore the user are more under control and requires less energy.

The interesting handle is fun and playful it’s almost like playing a video game. The orange holder can be separated into two parts, its disposable therefore easy for cleaning. Inside each orange holder contains 15 spikes; the spikes are designed for stabilizing the half cut orange when making the juice. As the juicing process begins, filter on the bottom of the juicer runs down into containers.

  1. Nice design. It's really cute and fun. I love that the shapes are reminiscent of an orange and teamed with the use of bright colours, it gives an appealing appearance. Great work!!

  2. I like this design, the concept is great because it looks like you're having fun crushing oranges making juice even though it is an unpleasant experience but you made it look like it's full of joy and excitement. I like the small holes reducing and filtering pulp on the oranges. Does this design allow to squeeze the other citrus fruits for example lemons or lime?? or its only designed for oranges?? I like the bright colours and the form is captivating. Good Job!!!!

  3. I don't really understand how it juices the orange?? However i do understand the wonderful "play" elements of this design and the stirrer really does look like a joystick. The inclusion of the finger grips and use of bright colours really do add "fun" qualities to this product. I love that it is very neat and simple, unlike standard juice that are odd shapped.
Another aspect that crosses my mind is it possible for the juice to leak onto your hands as you're juicing?

  4. The object feel svery comfortable in the hand. The shaped is very ergonomic, along with the room left for fingers to grip. I am abit confused about the functionality of the product though? The colour and the finish to help in feeling a empathetic response with the product.

  5. This design was the different approach of the ordinarly design that we already have and into something that is playable, something that is enjoyable when it's on operation. In the picture, the orange seem to be fit into the equipment and I'm wondering how does the squashing thing fits into the equipment. And perhaps the holes that drips the juice is a bit small and might be blocked after few squashes. Other than that, it is very cute.

  6. Your product is very eye catching and i watched your model-making process, it was complicated and you put so much effort for this. But i kinda disappoint with the colour u have chosen ( neon pink and yellow), it looks (sorry) cheap.
